Elena Otero Keil

Elena has been a corporate lawyer for over 10 years. She has supported companies at various growth stages, borrowers with a range of capital requirements, and lending vehicles with distinct underwriting and risk management criteria, Through her experience, she has developed a business-focused perspective on the process of providing corporate guidance to a variety of stakeholders and structuring transactions to achieve growth and operational objectives, while maintaining and communicating a compelling overall risk profile.

Elena most recently worked as Vice President and Associate General Counsel at a publicly traded real estate investment trust formed in 2017. She supported the company’s growth from formation, including through the development and maintenance of corporate infrastructure, and the negotiation, documentation and implementation of transactions, on terms commensurate to the company’s then-current growth stage, risk profile and operational objectives.

Elena has also worked as an associate in the New York banking and finance departments of several Vault 100 law firms, including Kramer Levin Naftalis & Frankel LLP, Paul Hastings LLP, Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom LLP and DLA Piper LLP. She earned a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Science degree in industrial and labor relations.

Elena serves as Vice President of the Board of Directors of Exhale to Inhale, Inc., a non-profit that supports survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault through access to resources for healing and empowerment, including the practice of trauma-informed yoga. She has worked with Exhale to Inhale since 2013.
